South Asian Awareness Week

October 27th - October 31st - Savio Steps, Upper Sproul

South Asian Awareness Week (SAAW) is a week-long celebration of South Asian culture. Look out for dance performances every day on Upper Sproul Plaza during lunch. We'll also have evening events on different aspects of South Asian culture, including a SAAW 2006South Asian speaker panel, Sikh awareness night, movie night, and a classical concert. On Friday night, Indus will hold the SAAW showcase, a tremendous Culminating Performance featuring all the performances from the entire week and more! Events are free and open to anyone. The goal is to use music, dance and politics to encourage both non-South Asian students and those interested in South Asian culture to stop and learn.

Evening Events:

Monday: Sikh Awareness Night presented by the Sikh Students Association
Tuesday: South Asian Speaker Panel discussion on South Asian Politics
Wednesday: Classical Concert for Charity | $5 entry free | All proceeds go to Project Rishi
Thursday: Movie Night presented by the Indian Students Association
Friday: South Asian Awareness Week Showcase on Upper Sproul. Acts include Hindi Film Dance, Raas, Fashion Show, an a capella performance by Dil Se, and much more!
